Cone Kissing Ball

This cone kissing ball is just too easy not to do.

What you will need:

In addition to your cones, you will need one premade artificial kissing ball  a can of spray flocking, and some ribbon that matches your room.

The premade kissing ball is available at most stores for just a few dollars, we paid $6 for ours. You could also use a piece of a garland wound into a ball shape.)

Step 1:

Simply pick out the smallest cones from your bag and using the wire branches in the kissing ball, attach the pinecones making sure you see three or four from each angle—including the bottom.

Step 2:

Then spray with the white flocking. The flocking gives the fake branches a realistic look, and it piles up like real snow on the cones.

You are done!

We left ours “natural” with just a nice bow, but you could add small ornaments, berries or jingle bells or even some small battery powered LED lights.

Cone Holiday Card Holder

Displaying Holiday cards is a challenge. To often the crafts designed to display your cards make it hard to view and share them, or destroy the cards in the process. This sugar cone card tree is easy to make and allows you to effortlessly add and remove the cards.

Step 1:

Take a sugar pine cone and find a cup, glass or small bowl that will snugly fit the base of the cone.  No problem if it is not a perfect fit. To prevent the cone from tipping over we put crumpled ball of two-sided tape in the bottom of these ice cream cups but you can use some clay or sticky putty.

No step 2, you are done!

Just place your holiday cards between the natural slots in the cone. We put the larger ones in the bottom and the smaller on top to keep the mini tree look.

Before you know it you will have a forest of charming Holiday card trees.
